Donald Trump on Friday defended supporters who chanted “send her back” in a protest against Rep. Ilhan Omar and then went on to personally attack Omar as a “disgrace.”
President Trump who initially tried to distance himself from the “send her back” chant on Thursday, he delivered a full-throated defense of the people who participated in it while talking with reporters in the Oval Office just one day later.Trump said, “Those people in North Carolina, that stadium was packed, it was a record crowd,” Trump said. “Those are incredible people, those are incredible patriots.”
President Trump then continued a serial atattack on Ilhan Omar saying, “I’m unhappy when a congresswoman goes, ‘I’m going to be the president’s nightmare,’”
Trump said, referring to remarks that Omar made during a town hall in Minnesota Thursday night. “She’s lucky to be where she is, let me tell you. And the things that she has said are a disgrace to our country
questioned Omar’s loyalty to the United States, yet “is totally calm & accepting of the most vile and disgusting statements made by the three Radical Left Congresswomen.”
Trump said said he is committed to making sure Ilhan Omar goes back to where ever she came from.Thursday night was “staged.” More than 100 people, many carrying signs, met Omar in the baggage area of the airport.
Donald Trump also seemed to conflate the Ilhan Omar with another radical Leftist Rep. Rashida Tlaib of Michigan by calling Omar “Foul Mouthed.”
Tlaib had told supporters, “We’re going to impeach the motherf***er” shortly after she was sworn in to Congress.
